Avocado Ice Cream Recipe
As I am sure most of you know I recently did a powerlifting competition where I was required to cut weight, (my apologies if I was crabby, blame Brandon Crabill). For about 3 weeks I was required to consume as few grams of carbohydrates as possible. This meant absolutely no grains, and limited fruits and vegetables. In order to help my sugar cravings and make it feel like I was consuming a sweet treat, I made avocado ice cream! It’s a thick, chocolate dessert, that is not too sweet and has fewer than 10 grams of carbs per serving, and I like larger servings.
- ½ Avocado (can use whole)
- 1 scoop SFH chocolate protein powder
- 1-2 TBSP Cocoa Power (depends on your love for chocolate)
- ½ cup Almond Milk
- 1 cup Ice Cubes
- 1 TBSP Chia Seeds (optional)
Toss all the goods in your blender and mix them right up! Combine until the texture is thick and creamy like ice cream. If it is too thick, add more almond milk, and if it’s not thick enough add more ice cubes. This “ice cream” is loaded with healthy fats and protein to keep you full and satisfy the sweet tooth all in one! Hope you enjoy!
