Justin also specializes in lifestyle coaching, where he helps people change their lifestyle habits to lose fat and improve their quality of life.
Justin takes a preventative approach with his personal training members in clients. He focuses on improving movement, strength, conditioning and overall athletic development. His unique, yet simple approach to nutrition and supplementation is also where he excels. Intermittent Fasting, Paleo Diet nutrition and food based supplementation.

State of Fitness and Justin Grinnell did an amazing job preparing me for college athletics. The workouts always pushed me to get better and to work harder than I thought I could. Not only are the facilities great too, but the people are amazing! Everybody on staff at State of Fitness is so friendly and helpful. Whenever I had a specific question about a workout, or why the trainers would have us doing a specific lift, they would answer my questions with very helpful explanations and advise. After a long day at school, coming in to State of Fitness was the best part of my day.
We met Justin Grinnell when we had just entered our fifties. At that time, we were not happy with the state of our physical condition. Working out on our own was not getting the job done. Individually we were unable to hold ourselves accountable to workout and become stronger.
That all changed when we met Justin Grinnell and joined State of Fitness. Justin evaluated our current fitness levels and helped us come up with a plan to achieve the needed results. Justin doesn’t just train us. He encourages and coaches us to reach a more desired level of fitness. Justin educates us on current trends in nutrition and health. He counsels us on what we need to do to maximize our strength and stamina and how we should go about reaching desired weight goals.
State of Fitness is not just a gym. It is a life style. The trainers and staff provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere which motivates us to keep coming back. We owe our fitness progression, improved health and wellness to Justin Grinnell and State of Fitness.
When I started training with Justin at State of Fitness I had just completed three years of nearly continuous business travel and was in the worst physical shape of my life at age 42. I appreciated how Justin started my training sessions with basic exercises to slowly yet steadily build my flexibility and strength. As I continued to build my strength and fitness, Justin used his creativity and expertise to keep our training sessions productive, challenging and fun! Currently, after a couple of years of training, Justin has me as strong and flexible as I’ve ever been and performing olympic weight training exercises that I never imagined myself doing. More important to me is how training with Justin has improved how I feel outside of the gym. My body alignment and core strength is so improved that I notice it even in simple things like putting on my socks or playing catch with my son. Lastly, Justin provides health expertise well beyond physical training. While I don’t take advantage of it to the extent that I should, his knowledge of nutrition and overall health goes well beyond the norm. Thank you Justin, your impact on my health has been fantastic.
