I love knowing we are changing people’s lives. I love watching the change. I love seeing members leave empowered after seeing what their body can do for them.

Who do you look up to and why?
My parents and step-parents. They have given me the tools to make a happy life for myself. I am lucky to have many I can call parents!

What do you do when you are not at the club?
Keeping up with my crazy boys, biking/being outside with the kids, DIYing home decor, watching reality tv (another guilty pleasure), and trying to maintain a social life. 🙂

As General Manager at State of Fitness, Katie strives to make each member’s experience in the club the best it can be! Her main goal is to provide the best customer service and exceed member’s expectations in all areas of the club.
Katie has a bachelor’s degree is Biomedical Sciences from Western Michigan University. Upon graduation she worked in pharmaceutical sales for five years with much success. Katie realized her hobby of keeping an active and healthy lifestyle could be a career reality after meeting her husband, Justin Grinnell, in 2006. Katie then became a National Academy of Sports Medicine personal trainer in 2009 and began her career at the YMCA as group fitness instructor and personal trainer.
Katie believes in a progressive approach with her clients and practices efficient training to see the maximum results in the minimum amount of time. She hopes to pass on her passion of living healthier lives through exercise and proper nutrition. Katie’s positive attitude and energy allow her to help individuals of any fitness level.
