Chris is a 2005 graduate of Western Michigan University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. While he was working on his degree, he was a Graduate Assistant and instructed health & wellness classes. He has over a decade of experience as a personal trainer and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Chris’s fitness lifestyle is his accomplishments as a marathon runner. He has been sponsored and traveled the country racing marathons – he has currently run 135 marathons with a personal record of 2:37:32. Although he is still active in the marathon community, his main focus now is pace leading, where he helps people accomplish their marathon goals by running beside them and being a motivating source of knowledge. Chris is also a competitive triathlete and races several multisport events each summer. His passion for fitness & personal training began when he was a high school athlete playing basketball & baseball and conditioning and strength training for those sports.
The atmosphere at State of Fitness is unique compared to other fitness centers Chris has worked at. He enjoys coming to work every day because of the family-like community and positive energy. The team aspect challenges Chris to become a better trainer to help clients bring out the best version of themselves and reach their fitness goals.
