What are your interests, hobbies, and talents outside of SOF?
Puzzles! Specifically, 1,000-2,000 piece Charles Wysocki ones. I constantly have a puzzle going at home on my puzzle table. Also, I love cooking, traveling and binge-watching true crime shows & podcasts.
What is one of your favorite books/series?
Harry Potter and Patricia Cornwell’s Kay Scarpetta Series
What was your favorite concert ever attended?
Definitely Elton John!! We saw him 7th row in Vegas. Greg hit it big on a slot machine and we used some of the winnings to purchase the tickets. It was such an energetic and amazing show!
Who’s in your main posse outside of SOF?
Greg (my husband & fellow SOF member), Sunny (our dog) and a couple of close friends.
What days/times are you normally at SOF?
I try to make it 4-5 times a week for morning conditioning classes.
Tell us about your sports and fitness background.
Absolutely nothing!! I was never the athletic/sports type growing up.
When did you start at SOF? How did you first get exposed to SOF? How did your first couple of workouts go?
I started in November 2018, so almost a year ago. I won a 21-day trial at a silent auction and once I started, I knew this was the place for me. The first couple MONTHS of workouts were so tough – I was so sore and my body had no idea what was going on but once I started to feel stronger I loved it. And once Greg joined SOF it made getting out of bed so early a lot easier!
What is your favorite and least favorite movement/workout?
Most Favorite – pretty much anything, I LOVE the variety of the workouts.
Least Favorite – Aerodyne Bike – I try to like it, but I just can’t.
What impact has SOF had on your life?
It has been such a wonderful addition and change to my life! I wanted to lose weight and get healthy for most of my adult life, but I couldn’t find anything that worked for me. I love the feeling I now have of being strong, confident and healthy and am proud that I made a healthy change in my life and have stuck with it.
Do you have a favorite SOF moment?
For sure the Labor Day workout – there were SO MANY PEOPLE there! The energy in the gym was contagious.
What is your advice for people just getting started or thinking about starting SOF?
JUST DO IT! Just join the gym, sign up for classes and show up. If you do that you will see results.
What is keeping you at SOF?
The sense of community, the accountability of the classes, the nutrition and overall advice SOF gives. And also because I LOVE eating yummy food and this is my way to balance it out. 😊
