Give Thanks for Your Health!

For most people, Thanksgiving triggers thoughts of a day of cooking, spending time with family, relaxing while watching football, and more commonly, EATING!  But before sitting down at the table to share thanks while breaking bread (and while hopefully not eating TOO much), start your day by giving thanks to your health!

State of Fitness is not only open on Thanksgivng, but we also have a number of activities for you to help start your holiday off on a healthy foot!  Doors open at 7:00AM and we will stay open until noon, a yoga class will be starting at 8:45AM to get you centered before the festivities begin, BUT if you feel like running in the morning chill and supporting the Youth Track Clubs in Michigan, join Team State of Fitness for the Lansing Turkeyman Trot!

The Lansing Turkeyman Trot is a 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk that takes place in downtown Lansing.  The race starts at 9:00AM, with packet pick-up happening at Playmakers on Wednesday the 23rd, from 1:00 – 8:00PM.  You can register at https://www.runningfoundation.com/LansingTT.html.  Registration is $25.00 and includes a long-sleeve, technical tee-shirt, but you can also pick up a State of Fitness tee-shirt to wear during the race anytime you are in before then!

If the gym is more your style on Thanksgiving, ask your trainer for a copy of one of the workouts.  They are always available to you, and what better day to try one on your own than on Thanksgiving?!  Not to mention, starting your day with a workout will make you more likely to make healthier choices throughout the day!

Whatever you choose to do on Thanksgiving, State of Fitness wishes you a wonderful holiday full of health and happiness.  Take a moment to give thanks for all that you have, including your health.   Here at State of Fitness, we are thankful for you!
