Favorite Exercise

Kettlebell Swing

Least Favorite Exercise

Bulgarian Split Squat – only because they’re so hard!

Who do you look up to and why?

Without a doubt my Mom and Dad. Without them, I probably would not be alive today. I struggled with drug addiction for most of my adult life; they were there to help me at a time I felt alone and needed it most. They lifted me up and got me on my road to recovery and continue to support me in anything I do.

Favorite healthy meal/snack

Pizza omelet, protein cookie dough, or any green vegetable.

Guilty Indulgence

I am a sucker for a huge platter of smoked meats with all the fixings.

What do you do when you are not whipping people into shape?

You can find me whipping myself into shape – I simply love to train. Call me crazy, but I think a hard workout is fun. When I am not in the gym, I’m most likely in the kitchen. I love to cook and eat delicious food. I also enjoy golfing, being outside, yoga, watching movies, learning, and practicing meditation and mindfulness.

Steve is a graduate of Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He then continued postgraduate studies at WMU Cooley Law School for two years before submitting withdrawal for medical reasons. Steve subsequently entered treatment to get the help he needed and decided it was not in his best interest to return to Cooley. In early recovery, Steve’s path led him straight to the gym. During that time, the gym made him feel healthy and alive for the first time in years. It was fitness that saved his life.

Steve realized he could share his love and passion for fitness, nutrition, and supplementation with others. He decided to become a certified personal trainer. Additionally, Steve is a culinary contributor on the most-visited fitness website in the world, where he has six published articles featuring his original recipes.
